The Save a Child Foundation supports families in the United States that have needs during the Christmas holidays
We work with local school districts to find families with elementary school children that are known to be having financial difficulties. The school contacts the families that they feel appropriate for receiving assistance and explain that their family will be provided with a complete Christmas dinner and they are asked to provide a list of both toys and essential items that the children need. Our Foundation purchases all the clothing and toys suggested by the parents. Usually the school contact someone who volunteers to act as Santa. Then the family goes to an arranged restaurant for dinner and they are met by Santa and sometimes Mrs. Santa. Santa knows each child’s name and calls up each to his chair and presents them with their presents.
The second program skips the dinner and meeting with Santa. Our Foundation has done this program in conjunction with local charities and the Catholic church for the past 5 years. Below are a few pictures that the parents have allowed to be published.
